Motion!

The Trip - Part I

The Flight - I was not nearly as freaked out as I was when I flew with Savannah back in March. However, I had no idea how she was going to react to sitting in aluminum tube for four hours now that she is more wiggly. I spent what turned out to be the best $150 dollars of my life and got her her own seat. I highly recommend it.

I wish I had a picture of all of the stuff I was carrying. I had this cool backpack that went around her carseat so I could carry it 'hands-free', her diaper bag, another bag filled with toys and food, her stroller and 21 pounds of baby.

She LOVED the airport. There was so much to see and people were running around and everybody was waving at her - it was baby heaven. We sat on the ground and pulled everything out of my bag and by the time we got it all back in, it was time to board.

It was time for her afternoon nap by the time the plane took off, but she was far too excited to sleep, so we played for the duration of the flight. She was wonderful. Thank goodness for tailwinds, as we made it in a little over three hours. By the end of the flight, I was running out of fresh ideas to keep her occupied.

Grandma and Grandpa met us at baggage claim and we went home and she fell asleep immediately.

THEN the next day we went to the park!

Back in Town!

We are back from Texas - I am uploading and working on photos as we speak despite the fact that my lovely daughter is on central time and thought that 5:20 was a perfectly acceptable time to wake up this morning. More updates soon!

Forgot to mention

Savannah and I are in Texas this week visiting the Grandparents. We are having so much fun. I'll update with all the pictures when we get back.

The Digital Revolution

Conor and I have a100GB server for me to back up pictures of Savannah, Wedding and Portrait Files.

100 GB - that's a lot.

I have used it up.

I can't believe it! I had to spend my afternoon backing up files and deleting things off the server.

Digital photography is fun - but it is a pain in terms of storage space.

Savannah was helping me check my lighting before a photo shoot on Sunday. She grabbed one of my light domes and this was the result. I love it.

It's a start

So I wouldn't exactly call it crawling or even commando crawling, but Savannah did what I will call "wounded soldier on the battlefield" crawling yesterday. It was actually kind of pathetic, but cute. It also came after several minutes of complaining........SUCH a drama queen.

This is actually from Saturday, but I forgot to post it. Savannah was being very sweet by wearing her Texas colors during the UT-Ohio State game.

However, she was then very sad to hear that Texas got their butt handed to them in a crushing 24-7 defeat. I consoled her by telling her that Texas A&M won in a thrilling 51-7 game.

Nine Month Stats

We went to the doctor today for Savannah's nine month well-baby checkup. Here are the stats:

Height: 28 3/4 inches
Weight: 21 pounds, 13 ounces
Head circumference: 46 1/2 cm

She fell all the way to 90% (haha) from 95%. She was pronouced a healthy nine month old girl.

Also, not a peep when she got her shot. It was amazing.

Nine Months!

Dear Savannah,

On Saturday, you turned NINE months old! As one of my friends said "She's been out as long as she was in." Indeed.

This has been a big month for learning new tricks. You know what the chandelier is, you have grown four more teeth, you can walk with 'steps' when Mom or Dad hold your hands, you wave (almost incessantly at this point - I had to tell you that the computer, dogs, light fixtures, etc., cannot wave back), AND you can cruise from one side of the window ledge to the other, laughing the whole time.

You have also discovered your voice. "Dadadadadadadadadadadadadadaadaaaaaa....." This is what I hear all day long. In addition, the pterodactyl noises have made a big come back along with 'the Ernie laugh" as Conor calls it.

Your sense of humor continues to develop. I love hearing you laugh at yourself on the monitor after you've woken up from a nap.

You have decided that you are best equipped to feed yourself, so mealtimes have become quite the messy affair. You've tried O's, cheese and yogurt and love them all. Plus, the bonus for me is that you try to put your sticky, yogurty hands into my mouth too! Such a good sharer.

We love you silly banana!

Here is Savannah in her A&M gear. The bib was actually sent to me by the Former Students Association. As with the cons on Texas, I could go on an on about the great things about Texas A&M. So just know that it is the place that I spent four of the most fun years of my life and that it truly is a special place.
