Balloon Festival
Luckily, she was amazed and mezmorized. She keeps talking about the 'big balloons up in the sky'. We timed everything just right - the traffic was terrible, but we got to the launching about 5 minutes before it happened and we scored some sweet seats for watching. Here are some pictures.

Nickname
Well, if you don't have kids, this is pretty much what living with a toddler is like. Conor and I crack up at this commercial every time we see it and have now transferred the nickname "Goulet" to Miss Savannah. Seriously, she is so Goulet. Anything that has a button (a clock radio, my camera, the dishwasher), she's going to push it and mess it up with extreme speed and efficiency.

School Report Week 2
The teachers told me that she was fine after a few minutes. The report back this week also included comments about her love of music (apparently the best clapper in the class) and her knowledge of the alphabet. I got three awesome drawing this week.
When I picked her up, she was waiting with her face pressed against the windows. Very cute. She also said "Bye School!" as we left.
21 Months

It must be so amazing and so frustrating to be 21 months old. You have little control over your life, but everything is so new and exciting!

School

Savannah started Mother's Day Out this morning........Here she is eating breakfast and thinking "Geez, lady, it's just toast - why are you taking a picture?"

Her super cool Einsteins lunchbox and her school bag (filled with extra diapers and a change of clothes)

She loves this lunchbox.
And the playscape at school.
I was a nervous wreck bringing her to 'school' this morning. It's only four hours a week, but it's very different leaving your baby with strangers at school as compared to a babysitter or nanny.
She apparently did great and only cried a little when she went into the classroom. I was told that crayons seemed to soothe her. She kept saying "mama go?" to the teachers, and then she'd say "right back". Very cute. We'd been talking about how sometimes Mama goes away, but she always comes right back. Mama on the other hand cried a lot after she left. I did, however, get some things done, so that was great. I finally now have a Texas driver's license. Only took me 9 months.
She was happily playing on the playscape with the other kids when I came to pick her up. I think I was happier to see her that she was to see me. I got a beautifully colored mouse as a present today. I'm hoping next week is easier for Mama. I think I'm going to get a pedicure......
