POTD: Would Rather be a Superhero Than a Princess

Pine Mouth update: Tastebuds held hostage day 4.

On to SJ:
I heard that phrase in the title before I had Savannah with respect to another little girl and I always thought it was the coolest girl description ever. Little did I know it would fit my little person to a 'T'. It's not that Savannah doesn't have her girly moments, but she is generally more interested in adventure.

And that's fine by me.

What the? Pine Mouth? Great.

**Thursday morning edit - everything still tastes like soap in a tin can AND my lovely husband will not stop laughing at me from Seattle - He thinks I'm making this up - nice Conor**

Since Tuesday evening I have had the WORST taste in my mouth. Bitter, metallic  - like I have crushed aspirin on my tongue. Everything I eat or drink tastes gross. It's horrible.

As it didn't go away on Wednesday, I of course, turned to the Internet to see what the heck this meant. I kind of expected to get results about heavy metal poisoning or something equally terrible.

There were all these links about pine nuts and this weird condition called Pine Mouth. Apparently, certain kinds of pine nuts can give certain people (but not everyone) this condition where everything tastes horrible for a few days up until a few WEEKS. I'm assuming this is what has happened to me as I made pesto the other night and have been snacking on Pine Nuts since then. I love Pine Nuts and am so sad they have done this to me.

Here's an interesting article about it. It's apparently a recent thing, but SO WEIRD right?

I'll let you know how things are in a few days. But until then...blech.

Conversations: A Doozy

S: "Mama, are you going to start doing more work soon?"
Me: "Why? Hasn't it been fun to have me around more lately."
S:" Oh yes, I like that. It's just that I want to go to Paris next summer and fly first class, so I think you're going to need to work some more."
me: {completely floored}

It's going to take a LOT of portrait sessions for that, little one, a LOT.

Piggy Hat, Cow Boots (on the wrong feet) and a Flowergirl Dress

There's not much else to say is there?

Happy Monday.

POTD: My Little Pony Getting her Hair Did

My little pony needed a shampoo and condition, apparently. There are about a zillion things I love about this photo. Stickers on her legs, the way she's sitting. It's all good.

POTD: Puppet Show!

Today was Savannah's last day of 'Puppet Palace' at Art Camp. We were treated to an adaptation of The Three Little Pigs and The Little Red Hen. It was adorable. More to come, but here is the artist with 'Pumpkin' aka 'Pumpkin, Pumpkin Head Cunningham'. They made all of the puppets they used and also the backdrop. We're very proud!

POTD: Up Next: Seattle

We went to Seattle last week and it was delightful! A quick long weekend (for S & I - Conor was there all week) out of the heat. Saw some friends, ate some food - good times all around!

Savannah enjoyed Pike Place Market MUCH more this time around. She loved those dudes throwing fish.

Hawaii Slideshow

Here are the photos. They are random as always, but it'll give you a good idea of what we were up to. There are also a lot from my plastic toy camera. It was a great choice to have around the ocean and the pool. I have some good stories to tell as well and will get to those here and there in the next few weeks.

Hawaii...coming soon

I'm working on a Hawaii slideshow. It's coming this afternoon. In the meantime, here's a preview.

So...this thing

I can barely keep my head above water most days, but with a slower wedding schedule the rest of this year, I got antsy and started another blog.

I've always liked food photography, so, here we are with me making recipes and the taking pictures of them. Hopefully, it'll help me improve my skills. I'm thinking a once a week post and I'll include the recipe.

Go over and look - I've also added a link in the blog list to the right.

I don't have a babysitter this week...

I know, I know. Boo-Hoo, poor little me. But with no naps, that means I am not sitting at the computer much for the next five days. We are looking for downstairs projects that Savannah can help me out with.

Enter...the Tupperware drawer. Is it just me or do lids and matching bottoms disappear into the abyss?

S and I had great fun matching lids for an hour today.

Voila! I am way too pleased with myself about this

And away we go....again

We're really not jetsetters.

We're off to Seattle for the long weekend.

I will emerge in a few days.

XOXO
