POTD | Woo! Back from London
Wow, I need some time not zooming across the ocean. As exciting as it sounds to be in Europe three times within 8 weeks, the reality is that I am tired and longing for more Tex-Mex and Margs and friend time.
Not that the trips were not fun and fantastic, because they were all amazing (especially seeing family and a delightful English wedding this past weekend), but the travel part is a cruel mistress. Everything suffers - work, the house, etc.
Savannah takes it all in stride though. Here she is outside our latest hotel. Travel = not a problem for Little S.
I was telling her that I was looking forward to some time at home today and she said that she wished we could travel all the time. I am happy about that attitude because it will surely serve her well in the years to come. A five year old with an impressive set of stamps in her passport is never a bad thing and we are so grateful we've been able to supply those experiences for her.

We are home | Conflicting Feelings on Pop Art
We are home!!!
So many stories and photos to come, but no photo that makes me laugh harder than this one of Savannah in front of a giant Warhol at The Pompidou Center.

Blogger is hateful | POTD | A Snow Cone
It has been since May 8th that I have been able to upload photos to Blogger. Blerg. I am considering a big switch to a dedicated domain for the blog, but we shall see. For now, we will limp along with Blogger....
For now, enjoy a snow cone after swim class. Coming soon...a billion things.

I got some some new lenses and Savannah is a theater manager.
So I get a TON of boxes from my photo lab. I do my best to recycle them and reuse them, but sometimes, you just have to make a puppet theater out of a large 20-24 order. I feel very eco. Savannah has upcycled the box into her theater. Watch when she gets irritated and yelled 'No Photography!!" Heh!
I also have upgraded a few lenses and guess who is always the new model? I always tell her she'll thank me later for taking so many photos.

Coversations
"OK, so pretend I'm a platypus/dog/secret agent"
There has been a LOT of pretenting going on round these parts - I love it.
"So you can just drop me off - have a good trip!"
-Savannah to me as we pulled up in front of Austin and Bridget's (Gagas A&B, respectively) house. She was staying with them the weekend I was in London with Conor and was ready for Gaga time. London pics are coming.
"Do you think they need a flower girl?"
-We are attending a wedding this summer in London (I know! How jet-setty are we?) and Savannah is willing to put her flower girl resume up against anyone.
"YES! Put the paperwork in the mail!!!!"
-Me to the admissions director at The Girl's School of Austin when she called to tell me a space opened up in the Kindergarten class and was wondering if we would like to accept it. More on our school decision later!
To end with a photo - just file this under generally awesome.

POTD: So why do we buy toys again?
This cardboard box had been endless entertainment for weeks now. It's been a car, a stroller and now a 'disguise' called 'Mr. Boxy'. I don't really know why I have to purchase toys of any kind when cardboard is this fun.

All Clear Siren
Well mostly...
Finally heard from Dr. Lung today and Savannah is clear of Interstitial Lung Disease and Brachiecstacis. Don't bother Google-ing them. It's basically the other two prongs of the bad three that included CF. It'll just depress you to read about the symptoms.
They would like to see her back in a month, because there is something on her X-ray and I'm sure they'll X-ray her again. It could just be the way her lungs work - who knows? But in general, this is about the best outcome we could have hoped for so far.
Thanks for all of the concern about Savannah.

Soooo....
We still don't know anything. I called the Pulmo last week and confirmed they have received the CT Scan, but they have not called me back with any info. I'm thinking that this means:
1) It's not that serious and they have sicker kids to deal with at the moment
2) It's crazy weird and he's consulting with some of his lung buddies.
Savannah continues to feel great and we are rocking spring break this week.
I'll have a post up on the Food + Photos blog in a moment if you are looking for some recipe inspiration, by the way.
For now, enjoy Savannah dressed as a peacock. Squawk!
